I’ve been interested in picking up Nik’s Silver Efex Pro 2 for a few years now to bring the black & white darkroom into my computer and finally had a chance. For those that don’t know about Silver Efex, it’s a well respected software designed specifically for producing stunning black and white imagery from your digital files. While there are a few other companies producing similar software, Silver Efex appears to be one of the more popular with long time professionals.
The software has me really excited with the small amount of usage I’ve given it so far producing very pleasing results. Being an old time B&W shooter (I started with B&W many decades ago) I have kept much of my enlarging equipment in the basement just in case I ever wanted it. With this new software I think the old equipment will find a new home.
