Experience Music Project – Seattle

The amazing Experience Music Project building is not for everyone but I sure get a kick from it. The Experience Music Project (EMP) was founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, and opened its doors in 2000. It features Seattle music history including Jimi Hendrix and the grunge music scene.

    Ahh, a Gehry I hadn’t heard seen before! His playful and experimental use of melted metal is fantastic.

    The inside is as cool as the outside. I gather it’s supposed to resemble smashed and melted guitars courtesy of Jimi Hendrix who had a habit of destroying perfectly good guitars.
