Heading South into Northern California

After a few pleasant days in Oregon City (the Portland area) we are finally heading south to warm weather and the amazing scenery that is located in Arizona and New Mexico. Serious photography is likely 3 or 4 days away as the drive from Vancouver Island to southern Arizona is a huge distance. In the meantime we get odd snapshots of the travels.

Having spent most of my life driving small cars I have found my new Ford F150 feeling big but after stopping at our first rest area I have an appreciation for either how big the 18 wheelers are or, how small and F150 is.

We drove over Siskiyou Pass (southern Oregon)┬áin a spring snowstorm but fortunately it was short lived, I really didn’t want to drive with our 5th wheel in snow. All went well and dropping down from the pass we had beautiful light although being a responsible driver I didn’t shoot any photos until we came to a turnout overlooking Mount Shasta. Mount Shasta was clouded over but the sun was filtering through the mountains looking west, made for a nice photo.
