Born in Toronto in 1958 and raised in Southern California, I capture images with a keen appreciation of the diverse landscapes of Canada, the US and many world locations. A lifetime of hiking, kayaking and travelling throughout Asia, Mexico and North America has profoundly influenced his work, particularly my photojournalistic travel images.
After graduating from Brooks Institute of Photographic Arts and Sciences in Santa Barbara, California, I moved to Calgary and began my career as a technician/photographer for the Glenbow Museum. While in Alberta, I began exhibiting my work in galleries and museums and established my reputation as a photographic artist. For the past nineteen years, I have worked from my home on North Pender Island and more recently the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.
Although my exhibition and gallery images feature photojournalistic images, wildlife and the natural environment, I also work as a commercial photographer shooting advertising material, aerial photography, magazine photos and public relations materials for artists, writers and performers. Most recently, I have been “playing” with digital manipulation of my images.
My fine art prints and posters are available directly through this website and Art.com, the world’s largest online fine art and poster retailer. Stock photography and digital images for commercial use are also available, please contact me for details. I also accept assignments, so watch for me in the field. . .
