Nikon 17-55mm f2.8

I recently picked up a used Nikon 17-55 f2.8 lens and finally had a chance to shoot something other than party photos. My first impression is that the Nijkon 17-55 lens is big. It sure looks big with the lens hood on anyways. Fortunately it balances very well with both the Nikon D2X and Nikon D300 that I use.

Sharpness sure looks good compared to the old lens that I am replacing, a 24-50mm Nikkor lens from many years ago. Coupled with the D300 i shot these images close to wide open at high ISO in somewhat poor light without a tripod, very bad technique. This body and lens will be a killer combination. Stay tuned.
