Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

One of the interesting day excursions near Palm Springs is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Cutting through Chino Canyon the 10 minute ride starts at an of elevation 2,643 ft. and ends at the Mountain Station at an elevation of 8,516 ft. Access to Mount San Jacinto State Park is located at the top.

Originally built in 1963 the tram was updated to high tech rotating cars in 2000. The views from the top are amazing looking down to the Coachella Valley and on clear days the Salton Sea.
