Somenos

A perfect evening! Actually I really shouldn’t call it that. The sun goes down so early now that sunset happens around 4:30 or so, maybe I should call it a perfect afternoon. This photograph of Richards Creek flowing out of Somenos Lake was shot at 4:11, right before the sun hid behind the hills up the Cowichan Valley. Regardless, it was one of those stunning sunsets that will give you perhaps 2 minutes of shooting time. It looked as though it would snow all afternoon but a thin band of clear skies lay on the horizon. This is what we wait for.
