Sidney Island, British Columbia – Sunsets and Moonrises

What could be better than visiting one of the sandiest beaches in the Gulf Islands of British Columbia and experiencing a beauitiful sunset and a full moon rising at the same time? Not much really! On top of this we had great company at the dock.

  5. Some folks may suspect that you have played with the colours of the last shot, but I have seen similar skies in Vancouver and from the Island. Good work. I will try to visit your site more often.

Thanks all! These are true colours, one of the unique qualities of the light in this area. The last two are long exposures after sunset, a good reason to carry a tripod.

    Hi Kevin,
Beautiful, beautiful – I especially like 2,3, and 4. I’ve been seeing a lot of herons these days, but ours are neither great or blue. I’m glad you had your tripod
