The Galápagos sea lion (Zalophus wollebaeki) is a species of sea lion that exclusively breeds on the Galápagos Islands and on Isla de la Plata just off the coast of Ecuador. These fun animals seem to have an idyllic life, lazing around beaches and playing in the water when food sources are good. The males seem a little temperamental however with aggressive behavior during mating season. Most of these images are of the light coloured females and many of the very young pups that were on the beaches when we visited in November. A few bulls are pictured as well. Who needs a dog when you could have one of these cuties?
