Tide and Boar Gastropub – Moncton

A great part of being on the road and doing photography is visiting interesting places. These include new anchorages, countries and towns as well as one of my favourites, good restaurants and pubs. While I normally don’t do restaurant reviews I thought I would give the Tide and Boar Gastropub at least a mention.

While in Moncton, New Brunswick this month I had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Tide and Boar Gastropub. Firstly, what a cool name! This is of course a play on the tidal bore that comes up the Petitcodiac River twice a day on the incoming tide. Very clever.

While we didn’t have time to hang out in the evening and enjoy the live music that often rocks the pub we did get to sample many excellent gastronomical delights and a few of the signature mixed drinks and local beers. All I can say is wow!!! This is good food, a fabulous reason to spend more time in Moncton if you ever have the opportunity. The seafood and salads were very tasty and unique as well, not your everyday normal pub fare. Check out their web site for a full menu, there’s lots of  tasty stuff happening here.

The pub has charm as well and I spent some time shooting somewhat artsy photos of the establishment. I’ve attached a gallery for those that either a) want to see what the pub is all about or b) want to see my artsy photographs of the Tide and Boar. Overall a 5 star rating on the cool and good time factor.
