Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is a fascinating area within the city limits of San Diego, California. Unspoiled coastline in an urban area is rare but somehow this 2,000 acre park has remained in excellent shape.
The Torrey Pine is the rarest native pine in the United States. It only grows in the Torrey Pines Preserve and on Santa Rosa Island off the California Coast. The reserve also boast over 400 different species of flowering plants. If this many plants make the San Diego area home it’s really easy to see why so many people also live in the area, the weather is fantastic. Toss in beautiful beaches, great hiking trails and watching the paraglider pilots at work, can’t get much better; except for paragliding yourself over the area!
I’m not going to ramble much today but will just publish some photos of the Torrey Pines Reserve. If you are in the area, it’s worth the visit.

Wow, great shots. As I think I said, I was just at Torrey Pines last week. I’ll be putting up my post about it later this week, although my photos don’t compare to yours.

Thanks Diane,
You owe it to yourself to drive out to the coast and enjoy the San Diego area, in fact the whole California coast is pretty amazing. Gotta get back there soon myself.
