Nivernais and Loire Valley Skies

While we are on the subject of France (see The Lions of Lyon), when I was travelling there one year ago I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the spring light was in the large open valleys of the Nivernais and Loire Valleys. There was a softness early in the mornings and around sunrise that offered up some excellent conditions to shoot photographs in. This is what you dream of, having a stunning subject with stunning light to go along with it. Of course, the weather isn’t always perfect with lots of spring rains whipping through the area as well. It all adds up to a good photographic experience. As the weather was a little iffy this week on the west coast of Canada I figure a little glimpse of France would work well for this weeks’ Sky Watch Friday.
