Nose art, Pretty Polly - Palm Springs Air Museum, Palm Springs, California
I spent Saturday at the Palm Springs Air Museum visiting their extensive collection of flying and stationary aircraft. For aviation fans the Palm Springs Air Museum must rank up there with some of the best, definitely worth a visit.
Many of the aircraft are WWII vintage and have the traditional nose art, cockpit art and the odd bit of tail art. The subject matter of World War II nose and decorative art varies but primarily was of cartoon characters and female pin-ups. The females pin-ups were in various stages of dress or undress, some believing that the further away from the public eye the aircraft were located the racier the images became. Cartoon characters were often Disney characters.

Like your photos on the art on those aeroplanes! I preferred the King of the cat. Have a nice weekend!
