Ladysmith Festival of Lights

The 20th annual Ladysmith Festival of Lights was held under clear and cold co0nditions on November 29th. This was a marked improvemnet over last years festival that I recall being snowed out.

The Ladysmith Festival of Lights is a family affair with a craft fair, food, clowns, a parade and best of all, santa turning on over 100,000 lights at 6:30 PM. The day ends with fabulous fireworks.

This was the first real test for my new Nikon D300 camera. This camera is very good at low light conditions and this evening festival would give it a good workout. I also used my trusty Nikin D2X as I feel very comfortable with this camera after shooting 35,000 photos with it. I’ll evaluate the images later when I get back to my main computer but from what I can tell on my cheap notebook the images look very impressive.
